I love my switcher boxes I have. They are like cheapo $20 madcats ones and they work perfectly. Anyways, just don't end up in the poor house :P
Never heard of that problem before. Also, I generally refer to the active ("most forward") window as the focus window. But I can't really help with that problem, sounds really weird.
The problem only happened once today, early this morning. I almost think it has to do with that automatic updating that Windows does (you know, the little yellow shield icon down in the tray?).
The sticky inny thingies are called plugs or jacks. ;)
Sounds like you're using analog RCA jacks. The White/Red/Yellow colors mean Audio Left Channel, Audio Right Channel, Composite Video, respectively. If you're using 5 plugs, that's probably the audio channels plus 3 Component Video cables. Component video is supposed to be better quality than composite.

Oh duh, I should have known that! My brain starts flailing when I see technical stuff, then I forget what little bit I know. :P
I'm using both kinds now, the three (red-white-yellow) and the five (red-white-red-blue-green), and everything's working!
