An exciting day today - I am actually going in to work. It's just to pick up a few things, but it will be interesting to see the office again after so long. A colleague went in last week and sent photos of the empty desks. He said there was only one other person there and it is a pretty big place

CJ Cherryh has *such* good human/alien interactions and stories. I dunno if i would be any good at meeting them, either, unless we could somehow speak.

At this point, frankly, an alien invasion would almost be a RELIEF.

I really don't think I want aliens to meet the human race. I hate to think what their impression would be - especially if by major bad luck they landed in the USA where they would promptly be shot....

*g* Not just the US - fear can cause trigger fingers to twitch prematurely all over the world. But I hang on to the hope they will have done their research before they come to make first contact and will have thought that one through.

Absolutely no way! I have a terrible time making conversation with another human! And the responsibility of being a representative of my species, well that would absolutely crush me. After we've established regular relations, sure but first contact is totally out!

Yeah, but as someone said to sparrow, you have to consider who the alternatives are *g* I would rather you (or me) than some people I can think of.

Well that is terrifying! But, by the same tokens, I have busloads of candidates who would be better than me. Your own sweet self among them.
