AN: What with Chord coming back and all, and my having some spare time because uni is settling down again, I have decided to continue this little series. It will pretty much be short little letters and drabbles when I have the time or have ideas.
Here is the first one. ---
Dear Mercedes,
So, it’s been a few weeks since I sent my last letter, and I have no idea if it even got to you or you read it and just decided not to write me back. I respect that, if that is your decision. If it is over for you, or easier this way, or if you’ve moved on, I understand that. But it isn’t over for me, and I really want to keep writing you these letters, you’re the one person I want to talk to about my day and this sort of helps. If you write me back to tell me to stop I will, no questions asked. It’d be nice even to know that you’re okay.
I spoke to Kurt the other day. Don’t be mad at your boy, but he messaged me on Facebook, just to let me know how everything at McKinley is going. It sounded like things have been a bit hectic, he didn’t say anything bad, but I’m worried about you, I guess. You’re such a strong person, Mercedes, but I know things can get to you even if you don’t let it show.
As for me, things are going well. The school here has a really good program to help with my dyslexia, and I made the football team, which is fun. And this town has this amazing comic book shop. I know that’s dorky but Lima has nothing more than a shelf in the back of that weird smelling bookstore, so this is exciting for me.
My family is being weird again though. The kids are great, really happy in their new school, but Mom and Dad have been having these super serious discussions when they think we’re not listening. I have a feeling it is to do with work stuff and it scares me. I wish I had you around to talk to about this in person, I don’t want to go through what we did last year. It’s not fair on any of us.
They haven’t said anything to me yet though, so I guess I have to wait it out and see what happens.
I will keep this short, in case you really don’t want to hear from me and you end up just throwing this away. But like I said, I think I’m going to keep writing, if you don’t end up calling me just to tear me a new one about bugging you.
Stay wonderful, Mercedes.
I love you,
Sam.
