I was wondering... During the beautiful evening duet between T und I, Voigt held back, causing instability in the voice. Perhaps she was only trying remain standing. In the dark, mind you. The staging was all blacks and whites, with bursts of color used very sparingly. Some strange symbolist stage direction, though.

the entire role is a killer. imagine, after the incredibly heroic music in act 1 and the better part of act 2, she has to sing those beautiful lyrical basically till the end of the opera (liebestod is so lyric too)...Thielemann i have a parsifal he conducts and it spreads to 5 discs.....Keep that shit MOVING...jesus...

well... the people love him and his direction. It's on the schedule six or seven times, if I remember correctly. The place was packed...
Last night was Domingo conducting La Boheme. Didn't go.. I thought Ikaia-Purdy was singing Rodolfo, but I was wrong.
