Yeah, I'm totally on the same boat as far as the whole Kanda/Allen craze. I mean, knowing me, I pretty much go for ANY pairing (for Christ's sake, I'm in the middle of writing a Allen/Robin fic!), but it took me a looooong time before I even got myself to try it. I just stared at it, went "eh", and moved on. Seeing people ODing on it doesn't exactly help either.
