Hi! I used to have an account at AO3. Or at least, I thought I did. When I pull it up and try to log in, it fills in the name "bone" and the password with the right number of dots, but then it says there's no account, and neither the name "bone" nor either of the e-mail addresses I would have used comes up as valid, either ( Read more... )

I just can't figure out why the username and password would fill in if I hadn't made an account, and the number of dots for the password is exactly right for the password I would have chosen. It seems like if I didn't have an account, it wouldn't have known to fill in a username and password, right?

Weird. I appreciate you doing the advanced search, though!

Can you confirm your account name by looking up a story you posted there?

I checked and I have no invitations either :-(

I think the only story that might be up there is a Yuletide 2008 story called "You Can't Put a Price on Tim Riggins" but I can't find that either.

The thing I can't figure out is why it would fill out the name "bone" and include a password if I hadn't made an account? *scratches head*

There's a password recovery form you can use. If you've forgotten both your user name and password, you can enter your email address.
