Owen perched on a stool in one of the empty rooms in the clinic waiting for Adam to show. His foot tapped in nervousness. His mind was running over the million and one possible ways this could go wrong, and oh god, oh god, he wanted this to work so bad. He needed ( Read more... )

The door knob jiggled slightly as Adam turned it, likely from the previous zombie attack, but other than that lingering thought, paid no mind to the door knob, and instead turned his attention to the man sitting alone on a stool in the clinic. He wasn't too happy looking, but for a dead man, he didn't look as bad as one might expect. Adam gave a small twitch of a smile, the type one does when they're not in much of a mood for smiling but do it anyway, and approached Owen. "Haven't waited too long for me, I hope," he said, conversationally, although automatically began searching through a cabinet drawer for a syringe. Of course the first one he looks in is full of rubber gloves and utterly useless.

The man hadn't offered him a hand, so Owen stood and joined him in the search for tools. Of course, as the doctor, Owen was able to pull what he was looking for right away. Examining the assortment of needles, he raised an eyebrow at Adam.

"You've done this before then, I take it? How much blood normally needs to be, er, transfused?" Which specific things Owen needed depended on Adam's answer ...

"Ah, good then," he replies, still looking distractedly down to the assortment. "Done it about four, five times earlier this week in this Infirmary. About a hundred times before that elsewhere," he replied, "Typically about five to ten mL. But in your case... I'd likely need something around forty or fifty mL. Your blood is more or less... solid, yes?" However Adam internally winced. Just a bit. Fifty mL was quite a bit, and after all the blood he'd already given out earlier... Well it's not as if he'll likely have a problem replenishing the blood, it'd never happened before.

"Wow." Owen raised an eyebrow and whistled appreciatively. "Five to ten mils to heal someone is really not very much. But yeah ..." he glanced down at his glued hand as the excitement quickly faded. "Yeah my blood is basically solid, so we probably want to start out by injecting it directly into my heart, see if we can get some kind of flow started ..." Owen glanced up at Adam to see how he was taking this. "It might take a lot more than usual, since the regenerative whatsits won't be able to flow around everywhere at first ( ... )
