Anakin tried to adopt the serene mask of a Jedi Master, but it had proved to be the one skill he was incapable learning both as a Jedi and a Sith and the restuls of his efforts was simply a glorified scowl.

"He may be unable to stand." he said, rolling his eyes.

Ferus groaned, clutching the sides of his head as he peeled himself up off the couch. The knocking. Why wasn't it stopping.

'What?' he called out in annoyance as he stumbled toward the front door and wrenched it open.

Oh great.

Padmé and Anakin were standing outside his door. Anakin.

His headache suddenly felt a hundred percent worse. He couldn't even react as Padmé hugged him and wished him a happy lifeday before moving past him.

They had both entered his apartment before he even really knew what was happening.

"Olin, you are an ungrateful, slovenly peasant," Anakin growled. He lifted the cover off the cake and ignited his lightsaber.

"Partake of her confection."

Padmé looked at Anakin reproachfully before her gaze softened into one of pleading. She looked around the apartment, noting with consternation the open laptop on the coffee table, the clothes strewn about. The empty liquor bottles.

The one that was still half full.

She was tempted to pour that one out, but she didn't want to upset Ferus any more than he probably already was. She pasted a smile on her face as she looked up at him. 'I baked it myself,' she told him, ignoring his withering stare.
