Adam was very well acquainted with the base and it's various boozers by now, being able to seperate it's regulars from a stranger who had just arrived. And even after spotting a man in black he assumed to be Peter, he did something of a double take, before approaching and sitting next to him.
Signaling to the barman, who soon placed a glass of whiskey placed in front of Adam, he looked to Peter with a slightly arched eyebrow. "Pardon if I say that the scar isn't too becoming."
Peter had unfortunately become something of an alcoholic since they last met so it was likely he was going to become a regular at this place very quickly. He turned at Adam's approach, giving the older man a nod in greeting and bracing himself for the comment on his scar.
"And here I thought I looked cool," he replied sarcastically. "Look I know it's an ugly deformity, okay? I've had the damn thing for years."
"I haven't said that it doesn't. It gives an enigmatic feel, " Adam replied, taking a sip of his drink, and swirling the liquid around in his glass. Peter can heal, just as he can. He's never had a scar his entire life, so how can Peter be able to retain one for years?
Peter sipped at his beer to stall for time. His scar was something he didn't like to talk about very much. Of course there were a lot of things that happened over the last four years he'd rather not go into, but with people from his past around such questions couldn't be avoided forever.
"It can't heal," he answered simply. "A few years ago I was captured and they ran some test on me. They wanted to see how far they could push my mimic ability. I managed to escape but not before they did this." He ran his finger along the scar meaningfully.
"Of course," he added, "I can make it go away whenever I want. I just didn't see the point of hiding it from you."
