Death appeared at Draco's side. "YOU HAVE DONE WELL. NOW I WILL END THIS." Stepping forward he readied his scythe to cut the rip's line to the rift. A thin red line connected them, invisible to everyone except Death and Susan. Without even a sound the scythe cut clean separating the rift and the rip forever.

Lightning crackled along the rips surface and it expanded and collapsed. Finally shuddering and with a sound like a thunderbolt but played in reverse it shrank until it was a tiny point of light. Then it simple popped out of existence.

"Oh ... good ... that was ... fast."

It was like a string had been snapped. All of Draco's willpower had been focused on holding the rip captive, and now that it was not there anymore ... he could let himself feel the ill effects of the spells he had cast.

Draco dropped his wand, fell to his hands and knees, and vomited up a copious amount of black blood.

Death looked down at the boy. "OH DEAR, I HAD HOPED IT WOULD NOT COME TO THIS." There was nothing he could do. Nothing except make sure the boy passed on correctly. "YOU WERE VERY BRAVE AND HAVE SAVED MANY PEOPLE. THOUGH I DO UNDERSTAND IF THAT IS LITTLE COMFORT." Death hung and shook his head. "I TRULY DO WISH I COULD MAKE THIS PART EASIER FOR YOU, BUT I CANNOT."

Draco fell to his side and rolled over onto his back. He looked up at Death gave a little gurgling kind of hiccup of a laugh, as blood trickled out of the corner of his mouth.

"Heh ... augh ... don't worry bout it. I ... ugh ... knew this was prob'ly gonna happen." Draco paused, and closed his eyes for a moment. "Casting Dark magic always takes a toll on the user ..." he explained. "You can build up a kind of ... tolerance to it though, if you use it in increasing increments over a period of years. Feh." He spit out more blood. "Unf'rtnly I had'ta kind of jump in all at once with the heavy stuff ..."

He opened his eyes and looked at Death again. "I ... ah, talked to Shego 'bout it, she tol me was worth it ... din think it would hurt this much though ..." Gingerly he reached down, un-tucked his shirt and pulled it up, showing his abdomen, which was an alarming shade of purple ( ... )
