Wall-E was really not at all happy with the current state of things. Humans were running around shooting at things and blowing up all sorts of other stuff so he figured it would be safest here in the gardens. Who would blow up plants? So he was tucked safely away in his box, behind a tree. Trees were immune to being blown up, right?
He peeked out, watching EVE hover, constantly vigilant. Just having her around made him feel safer. He sighed happily. He didn't deserve her, he knew. But she stuck with him. He stuck his eyes out, looking around. No humans. Was it safe to come out?
"Eevah?" Wall-E let out an interrogative electronic squawk.
"Wall-E stay," EVE demanded straight away, turning around quickly to glance at him. "No help."
She knew better. Last time Wall-E did not stay put, he had nearly gotten himself destroyed. EVE didn't know how to get back to their Earth. That meant no new supplies for either of them.
Wall-E retreated slightly. He wanted to help her! But...what good was he? All he had was his cutting laser and he didn't think he could actually hurt someone with it. That would be bad! EVE had her ion cannon, she was better at this sort of thing. He sighed and leaned against a tree.
Anakin stormed through the gardens, trying hard not to think of his last meeting here with Padme. Guru trailed along behind him, still sad and withdrawn after losing his best friend.
Anakin stopped and signaled to his digimon when he heard noises in the bushes. He drew his lightsaber and crept closer to see what it was.
The first thing EVE saw was not the man or the digimon, but the glowing red lightsaber.
And that? That looked like a threat.
EVE always was a shoot first, ask questions later girl. She fired her ion canon off to the side away from any plants. It made a small crater in the path.
The Force barely had time to shriek a warning before Anakin hit the deck and the blast from the ion canon sent dirt flying everywhere. He scrambled to his feet as the digivice on his belt glowed, and Mecha Norimon peered out from behind his legs and clicked his claws together menacingly.
