Step number whatever in trying to forget: a dance.
She couldn't remember the last time she had attended one of these. The masque, perhaps. Back then, though, her dress had far too many layers and far too many intricacies. Her dress was simpler this time around, light blue with only one shoulder strap and enough skin showing to be alluring.
Yet? Rather than being her normally outgoing self, Sarah Jane simply stood there, watching the couples dance with envy.
It doesn't mean she can't have company though! And even if this guy is one of the worst sorts at attempting to be social and civil, he'll still give a crack at it.
So, Sarah's soon joined by another. Another who's dressed in tattered old shorts, shirt, hoodie and a beanie hat, and smelling rather strongly of liquor.
Her immediate instinct is to wrinkle her nose at the smell of liquor. It is quite strong, after all.
But it doesn't stop Sarah from answering. There isn't a smile though. She can't quite bring herself to make one. Still, the hint of one lights her eyes as she responds:
Simon smiled as the band started up, nursing his own drink. The general feel reminded him very much of the parties back on Osiris...but surprisingly, not of home.
He hated to admit it, but Serenity was more of a home to him now.
Sarah Jane smiled softly at Simon, a friendly sort of hello. It was, in some ways, nice to see someone else who looked as out of place among the guests as she felt.
"New here?" she called over the music a moment later.
Shego was already slinking to the side as she entered holding Kim's hand, antisocial personality seeping through. She thought of mumbling about why she was here, but there was one name that would answer her question, and Shego decided against it.
She was wearing an elegant green dress, that showed a nice amount of cleavage. The supporting part was black, as well as Shego's gloves and shows. The dress had a slit going up the side. Shego turned to Kim, grinning.
Kim gave Shego's hand a reassuring squeeze as they entered. She knew Shego didn't exactly like crowds or other people, but it would be nice to get out once and a while.
Her dress was a light blue and somewhat more conservative then Shego's.
Ken nervously slid into the room. He had (somehow) arrived before Daisuke and was incredibly nervous about acting boyfriendly in public. He rubbed his hands together, glancing around.
Daisuke had dressed in his Digital World attire for the occasion. A blue jacket with red and yellow flames going up the bottom and fake fur on the top, with yellow gloves and tan shorts. His goggles rested on his head. Running in with Veemon, he was grinning as he looked for his new boyfriend.
"Yo, Ken!" He ran over happily, pausing to steal some of the free food. He thought to get Ken a cup of punch, and Veemon got one for Wormmon as well.
Well, this was ... interesting. Chika thought to herself for a few moments as she stood at the back of the room and watched for several moments. She'd had to sign a waiver (she didn't know what for, really), she'd arrived here all pretty, and she thought she'd enjoy herself
( ... )
Falcomon laughed as Ikuto grumbled, adjusting the purple tux Shego had gotten him into. He'd expressed interest in dancing with Chika, and so Shego he went out and gotten him measured and everything. His Digivice was around his neck on a black chain.
He wandered in, looking at everyone awkwardly. He felt so weird.
Chika looked around a bit more, still nervously holding to Piyomon's talon ... and then she saw a familiar mess of dark blue hair and a ninja-bird by his side. She smiled and giggled at how uncomfortable he looked.
He still looked cute, though.
She let go Piyomon's talon, causing the large pink bird to wonder what had happened until he caught sight of the two. He chuckled, walking by Chika's side as she made her way over to the two.
"Ikuto-kun! You look nice!" She said with a smile.
"Ah, thank you! You look.." He stared at Chika, and completely trailed off. Was she always that pretty? Thankfully, Falcomon dug his claw into Ikuto's side.
"Um, pretty. Very." Ikuto turned a nice shade of red.

It wasn't fair.

"Not that new, I've just been keeping to the infirmary. This place can get a little rough, even from my experiance."

Her smile faltered. "A doctor then?"

Veemon was confused.
"Are me and Wormmon boyfriends too?!"
Reply
"Um, I don't think so. I mean, you don't have to be if you don't want to..."
Reply
"Can it, Veemon!" Daisuke blushed as he hit Veemon over the head.
"Besides, I am a man of action, not thought! If I wanted to kiss Ken, I totally would."
