This is both twisted and brilliant. I love Margaret and Suffolk's head, and Henry being clueless, and, of course, the warning against cosmetics.

Oh, this is brilliant. I love that Margaret dives into necromancy to bring back someone she loves. And that she also wants Henry to live. I love that Reanimated Henry is so willing to believe in the balm that has turned back the sword.

And I really, really love Richard (and the reader) thinking that he's using Mortimer, when really Mortimer is using him...and is playing a very long game indeed.

Thank you so very much!

1) GREAT ENDING.

2) He turned to them, his large eyes seeming more watery even than usual. "It seems to me," he said, "that England is little different to those poor birds out there, quarrelling needlessly over what the Lord has given them to share."

Everyone else looked out of the window, with embarrassed, polite expressions on their faces. As though on cue the worm dropped to the ground. Henry sighed. "Alas, poor England," he said.

Marguerite coughed. "Thank you," she said.

OH HENRY.

3) Henry slept soundly, however, in the midst of a delightful dream in which he played at cards with the Marguerite, the Duke of York and Jesus, while Our Lady danced a Pavane with John the Baptist.

OH HENRY.

4) Edward looked to his father for a cue. Should he be pleased or disappointed that his brother was back? Was the boy a beloved family member, or an embarrassing burden?

A+ Edward characterisation (and through the rest of it as well, but especially that bit!)

5) How could he have forgotten? He'd been looking forward to showing the others ( ... )

Brilliant concept and great, nuanced characterization throughout. I'm impressed that you used so many different viewpoints within a relatively short story and that it all comes together in the end.
