I'm sorry, but I just have to post some more pictures, because this camera is so good. Very soon, I will get organised and put a bunch of things on Etsy, and on a separate journal, with prices etc. But, oh my God, I love this camera. I'm not a hundred percent sure about the wooden background, but these are still streets ahead of any jewellery photo ( Read more... )

Oooooh, pretty! Really, very nice work.

About the pictures, see if you can find some help in eliminating or at least lessening the shadows. Try getting some pieces of velvet to lay the jewelry on; first, you get some control over picking the best color to set it off, and velvet (nice, not cheap) isn't very reflective, so you won't get hot spots, and shadows will be diffused.

You can probably get velvet scraps at a fabric store.

Thanks!

A few people have mentioned velvet, which is a great idea, but I'll probably have to get them online, because the only fabric shop in Slough doesn't stock velvet at all. It's a pretty crap shop. There might be something in Windsor, though, I will have to check.

Fabulous, hun. Can I put in an order? Also, shadows be damned - too silly. However, if you would like some velvet let me provide it - yes, I am sad enough that I have it

Yep, of course you can! I have way more pieces as well, which I will no doubt be posting soon. Just let me know which ones you want, or if there is anything you would particularly like to have made. I've also made an assortment of stitch markers with larger loops - like, up to 10mm.

And heh, if you have some velvet lying around, I would love to have a bit. :) Thank you. *smooches*

Wow, those are gorgeous! Some of them are simply stunning -- some of the silver pendants, handful of plums, wildfire in moonlight.

WRT Etsy, I recommend perusing the forums. It'll give you a lot of ideas for and help with your shop. I know it did for me! There are a lot of dos/don'ts available on there.

Thanks. :) I like 'em. "handful of plums" I am keeping, I must admit. That's one of the problems - I get really attached to some of the pieces.

Ok, I can't even see the forums on Etsy. Do you have to register first? That's a problem too because I still don't know what to call myself!

The forums are accessible via a tiiiny link at the top of the front page, on the left-hand corner. Or you can just go here: http://etsy.com/forums_home.php. You'll have to register to post, but believe you can read them without registering.

I get attached to stuff, too! But I guess that's how you know you're making good stuff -- if you want to keep it and wear it!

KIRWIN! You are kirwin!

Also, those are freaking gorgeous. I really really like Wildfire in Moonlight and Tempest Tossed. But all of it is very pretty.

I really kind of want Octopussy.

These are gorgeous, Mads! I'm jealous! How do those cuff bracelets close? It looks like some kind of latch, but I can't figure it out.

Thanks sweetie.

The cuff bracelets have a hook and eye arrangement - it's just that on a couple of them, the hook isn't bent yet, so I can bend it when I get a wrist measurement from whoever wants it, which makes their fit a little more flexible. You can see it fairly clearly on "abundance" though.
