amazing. saix is so in character, as well as vexen and everyone else thrown in on the side. i've never read a fic where saix and vexen had anything to do with one another before, but this was just... something else. lol, i don't even know what to say. you really blew me away with this piece- everything about it- abstract and deep- just the idea of saix going through vexen's things and ABSORBING it all.. this line, in particular, really stood out to me:

Something about the set of his mouth arrests his attention; Saix lets the faucet run, cold water burbling over his hand, and wonders when he grew so confident as to drink from another man's life.i feel like that very last part kind of.. summed up what saix was all about in this ( ... )

No no, don't worry about it. I make that mistake quite a bit myself.

I'm glad you liked the fic. :] Granted, I only wrote part of it, but I did enjoy writing it, and it means a lot to hear that someone else enjoyed it too. ;D 'Something else' is definitely one of the things I like to hear anything I write described as, so I'm happy.

Don't worry about intelligent feedback, because... I'm just glad to know that you liked it so much! ^_^

Thank you! :) I'm glad someone liked it. It's a.... different idea, that's for sure, but kytha and I both had fun throwing it back and forth, and probably put more time than we should have into it, so it's really nice to hear that someone else enjoyed it too. :)

Glad also that Saix and Vexen passed the IC bar for you; that was one of our big worries, that the characterization wouldn't be as good while we were trying to play with the metaphors of each.

Thanks. :)

It's absolutely breath-taking. (But what else should I expect when two of my favorite authors get together?)It's intense and absorbing and I can't wait for the rest.

I love the use of the Castle as a mind; I love how Vexen tries to reduce Xemnas to an equation; and I especially love this line:

Axel makes faux-submission look as graceful as dancing

I love y'all's character interactions. My entire interpretation of the Orginization comes directly from what the two of you have done.

And one last thing: Is the whole "cats in boxes" thing supposed to mean something? Is it some kind of reference? 'Cause I don't get it...

Love for both of you!

Hee, good to know you're enjoying it! ^^

The cats thing is indeed a reference-- referring to a concept in (if I recall correctly) quantum physics that just kind of came to mind while working on this (although now I can't remember whose idea it was. Uh. Oh man, I am SO bad at this). It's popularly known as 'Schroedinger's Cat', if I'm spelling that correctly. You can look it up if you're interested, but the basic principle it's centered around is uncertainty and the role an observer plays in confirming something's existence... which is one of the things that the story hinges around. XD

Yeah, it's half a reference to the Uncertainty Principle too: that something is changed when it's observed, by the observer. I was absolutely going to call this The Uncertain Lives of Cats in Boxes but Sam was much more succinct. ;)

I am all about the crack, man. :D So good to hear you're enjoying it, because we are, too. >o> Although I'm none-too-secretly just waiting for a fandomwide reaction of 'omgwtf' in our general direction.
