Um, I didn't realize how fuckin' lucky I am to have gotten into the New School. Here's two of the AWESOME PEOPLE who teach there:

David Levithan, aka the author of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and one of my favorite YA books Boy Meets Boy.

Philip Lopate, aka the God of nonfiction anthologies and flanure nonfiction. His anthology Art of the ( Read more... )

Boy meets Booooooooooy.

And lol Philip Lopate. I had him/that book for my first non-fiction class as well. I'm loling at that fact, not actually Philip Lopate himself, promise. :P

And God damn. I had no idea they even taught, never mind at the New School. (Basically all I knew about the New School was that it was in NYC, and it was a BIG deal to get in there, and it's competitive.) That is frickin' unreal. How awesomely awesome would it be to take a class with David Levithan? (I'm sure Philip Lopate would be excellent as well, I'm just not as hardcore nonfiction-y as you.) Srsly. I'd love to just meet him and thank him.

That is so awesome to have something wonderful happen to you, and then to find out it's even cooler than you first thought or knew. Major congrats again on that.

I knew about Lopate, but I had no clue that David Levithan was teaching at ALL. Being in his workshop would probably be so much fun!
