[Jeeves & Wooster] Fic: The Ghosts of Brinkley Court

Oct 31, 2009 19:44

For the indeedsir Halloween challenge, just in time!

Thanks to storyfan and random_nexus for beta business and to janeturenne for handing me the Hound of the Baskervilles reference on a silver platter when I couldn't come up with anything decent. The rest is all my fault!

~9500 words, PG for some ooky-spooky stuff. (Of course there's slash.)
The Ghosts of Brinkley Court )

Hauntingly beautiful. I love how William and Seppings' story mirrors Bertie and Jeeves', but not quite. I have a feeling Bertie and Jeeves will get the happily-ever-after that William and Seppings missed. Bravo!

This was an absolute work of art, lovely. The characterization and voices were just perfect, the story was so very sweet, and the ending made me all girly and wibblish. Just beautiful.

for all I knew I might have agreed to rob the Bank of England to fund Milady's Boudoir.

Lol! Bertie'd better hope Aunt D. never finds this fic, or she'll DEFINITELY be after this next XD

"Sir, I do not believe Mr Bassington-Bassington's proclivities are as secret as they are politely not mentioned,"

OMFG, I laughed SO hard at that! Especially coming from Jeeves!!!

Thank you, dear! Poor old Cyril, I just couldn't resist a dig at the most obviously-camp character ever to grace the TV show. I think he reads as a little straighter, but not too much. :P Probably really a bit of a stretch to have Jeeves say that, but a laugh is a laugh.

Oh gosh, that was wonderful! Sweet old Seppings. And Bertie and Jeeves at the end...SO CUTE. Also loved clueless Bertie, the maid in love with him, and jealous Jeeves. <3

Thank you! :D I love Seppings quite ridiculously, even if I have a funny way of showing it with what I put the poor guy through.
