I can't say why this works so well but it really does. Your Claire is gorgeous, your Jones AS ALWAYS wonderful, their sort of accidental-but-not-a-mistake stumble into lurrrve is so believable and <3333

Plants with names and dummy sentries and shoes in the river and maps on the backs of hands, and Claire in her knickers (haha why do I love that?) and charcoal on thighs and footed bathtubs and NED and PINGU and Medical Steve! :D :D

Dan comes for Christmas and hugs Jones for so long that Claire leaves the room, but it's her mostly vacated one that he sleeps in on his own, and on the chilly barren rooftop Boxing Day morning they find each other there, and his smile is calm and real enough when he says he's happy, and happy for her and for Jones and for them, that she's inclined to believe it.

Like serious, pro-you-would-find-this-in-a-novel type writing. This is absolutely beautiful. You've got Jones character down so perfectly, the House, the plants, and his interactions with Claire...man

I'm kind of relieved that Claire/Jones won out in the end. And that Dan was okay with it too. Sometimes the things we think we want aren't what's best for us.

The garden is just -- amazing. <3 I love different and unique tastes on the House of Jones, and this one just feels so real, right down to the rust and bird poop and old mannequins. Also, I just love that you include all of the other characters, and there's a sense of family between them all. Just <3 <3 <3

I wasn't even sure how it was going to turn out until it happened, honestly, but it kind of had to be Claire. The garden was part of the weird dreams that spawned the whole thing. Before it had a title the document was just called 'flower pots.' :P

I wasn't sure about this when I started reading, but it all fits together so well. I found myself hoping that Jones would pick Claire at the end. And the garden theme tied everything together so nicely. Wonderful work!
