Veterans' Day, The Laundromat, the Wind and Wet Leaves

This morning it was one of those Portland double-whammy days, where the rain comes down while the wind blows strong, making umbrellas unusable. It's autumn/fall, so the wind tore loose leaves from the trees and they rained down, sticking to the road, cars and to the bottom of shoes. The colorful carpet they make is lovely, but slippery. Thanks so much. I enjoyed your post on the day as well. It is interesting to learn of others with similar feeling that step from such different circumstances. And yes, we do seem really good at failing to learn from the lessons of history.

I see many of these here... but then we do have a ton of Californians who moved to the area ;). We playfully blame them for everything.
