"She grew up with them both," he started, as though he were recounting a dream he couldn't forget after waking up ... or a nightmare.
"They were all teenagers together in Smallville. Clark and Lex were ... friends." He looked at Tim, stunned. "Best friends. Clark trusted Lex once, and Lex was ... he wasn't like he is now, he didn't start that way. He might have been like me."
