Merry belated Christmas! ;-)

For some reason I missed Menolly's fic - shame on me! I corrected this massive fail before reading your second part, though!

This is wonderful! I really love that in both fics there is a strangely absent Thomas... LoL!!!

Loved Wilson's selfless selfishness, how he fled the scene to avoid embarrassement for all the parts, how he refrains from telling Blythe the truth about his relationship with House. His choices at the store - one of them remembering Amber, I really loved that touch - and how obtrusive the stock boy was. It would be a very strange party, indeed!

After so long sleeping in the same bed, it would be odd if they didn't miss each other, so I'll join the chorus of loving House climbing the bed...

Amazing that now a lot of stories can take place in the Riververse, either if the author chose it, or if it's just the right place to put the characters, it's really wonderful!

Oh, I've missed all kinds of things lately. Life, you know?

If Menolly chose not to explain Thomas' absence, we didn't figure we needed to. Surely he has family of his own that he sees this time of year, anyway.

Wilson remembering Amber was a touch Nightdog added, and I loved it instantly.

We don't think this is the Riververse, quite, but it's similar. Menolly's story suggested that Wilson had been through Cancer Treatment Hell and that it had worked, so this is a different world -- at least somewhat. But anything that keeps Wilson alive and House alive with him is good. :-D

Oh, I'm so glad you continued that wonderful story! Love that the Liquor Barn forced Wilson to listen to the same playlist he put in House's iPod. That's karma (though Wilson didn't seem to mind)!

And this: Don't think you can cuddle your way out of this, you little weasel

Hee. And also lovely -- that whole last scene with them in bed together had the perfect dose of sweetness. Very them. I also thought Blythe's reaction was very 'her.' Even though we know very little about her, this rang true to me. Wonderful job, as always. :)

Blythe in canon surprised us. House thought she was pretty much normal and she turned out to be ... hm. Prone to adultery, very good at keeping secrets and hiding her real nature; obviously therefore a very good liar when she needed to be. Manipulative at times, and good enough at it to trick Wilson into thinking -- and telling House -- that she was sick.

And she was still proud of House and would defend him wholeheartedly when Thomas (and one presumes, anyone else) went on the attack.

... remind you of anyone we know?

This is awesome. I especially loved the section with Blythe and Wilson drinking together. It's not many fics that can make me like Blythe, but I adored her here.

One thing I think happens with stories is, it's really convenient and easy to make the main character's parents into saints or villains, depending what you need in order to move your plot along. And with Blythe the show didn't give us much to go on, to support or contradict either of those interpretations. But then it turned out she has some surprising similarities to Wilson. We just didn't know this -- House definitely didn't know it -- until very late in canon.

It seemed to make sense that they would get along well, and that she would be happy to have Wilson around. :-) He's like a shock absorber between herself and her son.

. . . single malt from some island in the Hebrides with an unpronounceable name . . .

Laphroaig! Of course House would drink that.

I'm so glad you decided to add this to Menolly's story, because I really wanted to know what happened next, even though the story as it stood was great.

Now I want to see what Blythe's reaction is when she learns she has two sons now, instead of one.

I love this story. ♥ My favorite line is "Don't think you can cuddle your way out of this, you little weasel" But there are many others too, too numerous to name.
I hope you (or someone else) will continue this story. I'm interested to see how Blythe will react to "Official Hilson". ♥
