wow, that eugenides quote. i totally agree with your understanding of it as well. that's very true that she was just herself and she didn't need to be a doll or a sex kitten. it's funny how so many girls dream of being like other girls and in some ways forget to be their own girls.

Is that Eugenides quote from the Virgin Suicides? I remember hearing it somewhere and it made me sad as well - I wish men would fall for girls like Audrey more, she is confident, intelligent, and graceful - what else could one want in a woman?
Audrey=goddess. And I love that she was so down-to-earth, classy, and genuine in a business and time when everyone's gotta be something they're not for the sake of showmanship. She has always inspired me :)
