Oh man, that's a good one. XDD Once I accidentally said eat the baby instead of feed the baby in ASL.

You know ASL? That's so cool! I know a few makaton signs, but nothing in real sign language.

Hahaha! That's hilarious. I know I'd totally flub up too if I had to learn a foreign language in that manner. It's great that you're able to laugh about it though.

That's adorable! Japanese can have really subtle differences - I had problems with the kawaii vs. kowai thing, too. I had a friend try to tell someone she liked puppies, but she ended up saying she liked it doggie style. Oops!
