Would it bother you if you came to the realization that you actually enjoy computer generated/synthesized music better than the same music performed by a real life orchestra? Cause I'm starting to get worried here.
Just so you know, as of right now, I'm back to sitting on my ass all day for a while since I haven't found a job yet. I'll keep you guys posted on that as well.
thanks chris. Truth be told, I was acquiring game music via PSF / NSF files and I was listening to the original (non orchestrated) soundtrack for Dragon Quest 8 and I realized that I liked the way some of the songs sounded better than the original game. It's weird.
Like, my favorite boss music is "Confidence in the Domination" from Valkyrie Profile. The song was redone in Star Ocean Till the End of Time when you fight Lenneth, and of course the music sounds more realistic (i'm sure it's still synth, but still sounds more like real music instruments). But i'm still convinced the original song sounds so much better.
Eh, there's nothing wrong with that. Some music does sound better as synth than orchestrated. I don't feel that's true of all music, but I don't have your ears (and I don't intend to cut them off and keep them in a bucket for later use, so I probably never will). A lot of it depends on the composer, too.
Speaking of Valkyrie Profile, I Lenneth for Christmas, but have only gotten to the second chapter.
