Their words, mostly noises

Harper was as happy as a clam, which was unusual, to say the least. She certainly caught dear Uncle Claude's minor outburst as the curtain went down for intermission, spotting her mother, Greta, attempt to calm him down. To her surprise and relief, they had stayed until the very end, though leaving before she had come out to greet the audience ( Read more... )

Frank took a moment behind stage before heading out to the lobby. He took the wig off, scratching his head quickly before replacing the long brown locks, and adjusted his clothes. He jumped up and down, grinning like a madman, then finally followed the rest of the cast out into the already ridiculously full lobby.

Of course the play was the thing. Of course the play was the best part, but he'd never stop getting a kick out of how almost everyone seriously thought he was a girl! There could be no better proof of how good an actor he was than how often he heard variations of the phrase "I had never seen 'Frank' as a girl's name before!" Or "I remember when I had legs like yours, darling~" Depending on Frank's mood, he sometimes politely corrected his adoring fans, let them bask in their ignorance, or (most often at the end of a long run of shows) would loudly shout in the middle of the lobby I HAVE A DICK AND I'M PROUD OF IT ( ... )

Snug laughed and squeezed him tightly, though not too tight because she learned that those actually hurt people and Frank was kind of delicate. "You're my favorite girl ever, too!"

FRANK WASN'T DELICATE. But he did almost giggle, kissing her cheek and leaving a smear of lipstick. "I try, I try~"

He totally was in her eyes! "Lipstick!" Snug exclaimed.

"I already feel-- scandalous!" She was pretty sure that was the correct word.

"I'm just marking you as my own," Frank said seriously, before kissing her other cheek.

"That's a nifty marking system," Snug observed with a laugh.

"When this washes off, do you have to do it again??"

Frank stared at her, then clapped his hand to his forehead. "Shit! I will!"

Kurt was generally really great with strangers. He tended to have an air to him that either attracted or repelled people, but it never anywhere in the middle. Right now, though, he was uncomfortable. Being surrounded by a cute crush's friends was intimidating on a normal day (or so he assumed), but it was decidedly worse when he was in an unusually vulnerable state. Dead mothers' birthdays tended to do that. It would take a good deal to get him to admit it, but he was more than glad that he had friends with him.

He may have taught himself how to put on a show well, but it didn't stop them from being great company.

Post show, Kurt had hooked arms with Tina and kept within their conversation, but his attention was elsewhere. Where was...OH. There!

Smiling, he waved over to Frank. "Frank!"

Thank God, a reason to leave the pair of blue-haired grannies behind. They wouldn't stop talking about Shakespearean tradition and how it was completely normal to dress up like a girl sometimes, don't listen to what those fag-haters said -- it could be a little much!

Upon hearing his name, he grinned in goodbye to the little old ladies, then turned and -- Yes!

"Kurt! I thought I saw you out there, but I couldn't really tell, hey!" Frank grinned stupidly as he made his way through the crowd, adjusting his wig with one hand.

In retrospect, it was probably a good thing that Kurt had a thing for womens clothing. Sure, he had that collection of muscle mags stored in his bed side table for some night time reading, but that didn't mean he was that picky. As far as he was concerned, he couldn't afford to be picky, and Frank was just really really really cute.

Even if his fashion sense was trying to kill him.

Upon hearing his name and therefor getting the recognition he needed, Kurt lit up. Shitty day or not, this was turning out to be a good ending to it.

Hopefully.

"Of course I was there. I told you I would be. This is Tina, Rachel and Quinn."

Frank knew how that went. On one hand, there was Nick. On the more realistic level, there was everyone else who he thought was cute, which was a pretty wide range, if you wanted to be honest. And Kurt was at the top of that range right now (although the metaphor or whats-it seemed to be losing its charm when put that way), and not only because he was the cute person Frank was looking at right this very moment.

"Of course you were," Frank agreed, restraining from hugging Kurt and kissing his cheek. He smiled happily at the three girls. "How'd you like it? How was I?"

"It was pretty great," Kurt replied honestly, trying not to gush like a little girl. That would just not end well. "And you were great. It was...great." Note to self, use the word great less. Oh god, he was making a fool of himself he was sure.

Oh well.

Brushing his bangs to the side as he usually did when he wasn't quite sure what to do with himself, he kept his arm linked with Tina's and continued. "That after party is still happening, right?"

An adorable fool, at least. Frank grinned and ducked his head. "Yeah, it is. It's going to be at one of the lighting guy's house, which is only a few blocks away. You want me to introduce you to the rest of the cast? Excluding Nick, that is, because then you won't look at me again for the whole night."

Did Kurt want to meet the rest of the cast? why not. unfortunately, he had promised tina that he wouldn't ditch them. it was a bit of a predicament.

"Um, yeah. Sure."

Letting go tina, he smiled sheepishly at her.

"I'll be right back i promise."
