Yeah, New Haven is no beauty spot, especially around the med school/hospitals. Where did he live? In a suburb, like Hamden? There are some nice neighborhoods out there.

The thing about the Yale campus is all the pretty parts are on the interior, like the Old Campus or the courtyards of the residential colleges and the law school and grad school and libraries. From the outside it's all just dingy limestone and brick and iron gates. Inside it's a pseudo-medieval wonderland with fancy carvings and beautiful plantings. Beinecke Plaza is kind of monumental in its way, though. And Hillhouse Avenue going up to the science campus is gorgeous in spring.

There are definitely nicer campuses though.

Exeter as in the UK? Not particularly high-ranking over here... why did you want to go there? :)

Hats off to T by the way, for being up for the cavity-filling ordeal! 12 is A LOT! I almost piss my pants every time a dentist looks into my mouth, let alone when they do fillings... I've only had 4 in my whole life, so nowhere near what T has been through already in one session, and am already contemplating having the next one done under general anaesthetic XD (they can do that, how cool is that?)

No, Phillips Exeter Academy:

http://www.exeter.edu/

it's one of the top boarding schools in the US.

It was 7 at once, but still a lot. He has 5 more to go.

I think the most I had done at once is 1. I actually have a fair amount of fillings but I accumulated them slowly. The dentist I took him to is really good! And charges accordingly.
