I am getting off to a slow start this Sunday. Well, not slow exactly--I have had some breakfast and done a bit of tidying in the bedroom and I have a load of wash going. And some brown rice in the rice cooker.
I am facing the usual existential "I have nothing to wear" crisis of the change of seasons--it suddenly got about 10 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year. I am fighting off the strong urge to go out an dbuy a bunch of things with long sleeves. I did buy some kneesocks from the sale section on the
Hansel From Basel site. And I saw that on my birthday, Endless was having a 20% off sale on "fall styles" so I ordered 2 pairs of shoes. One pair is already here! Nothing like free overnight shipping. It's a pair of kind of clunky round-toed brown ankle-strap wedges from Jambu, a brand I haven't tried before. I think I like them ... I wanted to get some sturdy shoes that wouldn't aggravate the neuritis so I need a style that's not too tight across the top of my foot (my go-to style for this time of year is a pair of Frye harness clogs, but they are tight there). But these may be too clunky for me.
Clunky, no? Maybe I should return these for the
boot version. There are also some
cute clogs ...
The pair that is supposed to arrive tomorrow is this one:
Quite similar, but a bit more streamlined.
I was trying to avoid buying a bunch of shoes like ones I already have, but really ... I like the shoes I have for a reason. Maybe I should just go with it.
Ar least now my knee is better I can contemplate a low heel (but must keep up the exercises!). I have some wedge maryjane shoes I bought a few years ago that I had to stop wearing because of the knee, I'll have to dig them out again.
