Ronon caught up with Sheppard in the exercise room, where it looked like he was trying to pound the heavy bag back into sand.

"Hey," Ronon said over the grunt-thump-grunt-thump"Hey," Sheppard gasped, then spun and kicked, the bag swinging away ponderously. Sheppard backed out of its path and wiped his forehead with his wrist band. It was like trying to mop an ocean with a towel, Ronon thought with amusement, admiring the sheen on John's slick arms and neck ( ... )

And then Ronon had overheard Woolsey speaking to Colonel Carter about Atlantis, and how the IOA was resisting allowing it to return to Pegasus. And it was in that moment Ronon realized how little any of it mattered. He'd told Sheppard as much-this was home, no matter where the city lived. And his team was his family, and Sheppard was-Sheppard was his center ( ... )

Oh, that's just lovely. I adore your characterizations -- this is the Ronon on Earth I always wanted to see in canon, and John, who never asks or takes, because yes, that's it exactly.

And the kiss was hotness personified. *fans self*

Oooh, thank you so much!! I loved thinking of them working out and sweaty, there in Atlantis off San Francisco, awesome...and very hot.:)

John who never asks, or takes, what a great line! Ronon does understand that, I think, that you need to ask, or take -- and John really doesn't do that. Really cool insight, which I will ponder. Thanks so much!

You are quite welcome, it was fun to write. I promise I'll get them into SF at some point. I mean, I live there, so it shouldn't be hard for me to think up trouble for them to get into. :)

oh, I really like this - especially Ronon's slight uneasiness and dislike of the earth people he's seen, and the way he feels even more alone among that many people. And of course Sheppard's sublimated anger is very him. Lovely! I'm glad they figure it out in the end.
