And after this I can't help but imagine Rodney saying to Radek, "Look, no one's ever going to be good enough for Teyla. But she should have whatever she wants. So. At least you're not such an idiot you won't realize how lucky you are." Which is the closest anyone ever gets to mentioning Kanaan any more.

Radek reflects that this should all be rather terrifying; his immediate superior, the city's military commander, and the single most powerful man Radek has ever met all stand ready, watching to see if Radek should put a foot wrong. But then, to Radek's mind, Teyla is the most formidable of any of them, and nothing the others could do-- not even losing their friendship-- could compare to how crushed Radek would feel if he were to disappoint her.
