I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

Y'know. I wonder if that's true.

I honestly don't know.

post-alive emo syndrome, uncertainty, memories, ffs now what, on the sidelines

I don't either.

Hurts like hell to lose it. Hurts like hell.

How much it hurts? Yeah. They say time heals all wounds. Maybe we'll know a while down the road.

Not how much, but that it hurts at all.

Love's a meaningless fucking word.

And here I was, thinking I'd just get soft one-sided answers.

What makes you say that, Kage?

Alright, folks say that it's better t'love'n lose than t'never love at all, because it makes you stronger or better or some shit. That fuckin' sentiment is right up there with "the gods never give us anythin' we can't handle" or "if it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger" in terms of first class horse shit.

People who say it's better to love'n lose than to never love at all are miserable dogs licking their wounds and trying t'recover their pride. They can shove that shit right where the sun don't shine, far as I'm concerned.

It sounds like you speak from experience, First Mate.

My gut tells me I agree, but if I was sure I wouldn't be asking everyone about this. Maybe I'm just as you put it, licking my wounds. If that's true, this place has made me weak.

That's a completely different topic, Batou.

Not at all, it's the basis of your question. How can you know if you've lost something if you don't know what it is?
