Is Bloomberg likely to try some strange tricks to try to break a strike? Or will he be a good mayor and roll over for them after a day or two?

I can't say for sure whether or not he or the MTA (Metropolitan Trasit Authority) will roll over, it sure will cost his buddies and the city a pretty penny if they let the strike go on for more than a day or two. He's threatening to fine the union 1 million if there is a strike, and $25,000 for each striker for everyday that they strike. The average yearly salery of a transit worker is 55 grand, including overtime. And if you know anything about the cost of living in NYC, then you know that 55,000 isn't really all that much.

Indeed I did. And do you know what I'm doing right now? Going back to bed!
Tomorrow is a whole other story, but the client that I'm working for says she'll pay my cab fair to and from the job. Not bad.
