I think the parents are just big South Park fans (this is reminiscent of the time Cartman's mum made him an Adolf Hitler costume for Halloween.)

Yeah. Still doesn't make it funny.

*shrug* But then, there are a lot of things done on South Park episodes that I don't think are funny. The show's made its name out of pushing buttons merely for the sake of trying to be shocking. That gag got old very fast for me.
