A Sock's Saving Grace

Jun 29, 2011 09:58

Last night, I called it an early night. At just past 8, I made my way, to my room. I closed the door, climbed up on my bed, and pulled out my mother's Cross Stitch & Picot Afghan. I worked my way, through the remaining portion, of the picot row (which, as stated in yesterday's post, takes forever.) Then, I worked the next row, of single crochet. My ( Read more... )

You had some wins today - loving the loomed socks, not getting verbally blasted by the nasty lady and being able to tell a difference in how you feel from the therapy. Sounds like you had a good but tiring day.

Hugs and happy stitching,

Kae

Are you doing the second sock first?

No...I don't think I am. Maybe though...

Well if you do the second sock first then you just have to do the first sock after that. Voila! No SSS (Second Sock Syndrome). Nods.

Don't let the woman worry you. The fact that she didn't say anything means you won. :-) And I can't believe a woman buys into such a sexist opinion anyway, that things women do are stupid by definition. She's not worth your notice unless she says something again, and you already proved you can handle her so she probably won't.

I don't much like high socks either so I have quite a few (bought) ankle socks. I'd like to have a go at making myself some higher ones with a very stretchy bind off (I'll make them toe-up) which won't annoy me.

It was just this really weird sort of feeling. I sat there, looming away, and I could FEEL her stares.

What a good day all around :) I love knitted socks! With time (after the yarn project) you may create a goal to rid yourself of all store bought socks; my current goal. Being a female, no one looks twice at my purse until a sock comes out at the Dr's, grocery store, book store, ect...

People think you're a mad hatter- wait til they see me :)

Socks are just plain fun to make. That is all there is to it.

Very glad to hear little Miss Word Vomit kept her mouth shut this time around. I agree that you won, and she's a bully, who won't say anything else because she knows her words are useless. Her glares are all she can do, ha! I know it must feel very uncomfortable, but just tell yourself, she's trying to make you so uncomfy that you'll put down your yarn. Beat her and show her what a good time you're having! XD

I agree. You can even go one better and smile sweetly at her and then continue your stitching. Nothing irritates someone who is glaring as much as a smile directed their way. It just points out to everyone around who has it all together and who has a problem.

Hugs and may the lady change her appointment times so you don't have to deal with her any longer,

Kae

I know you are right. I have won, by voice my opinion, and standing up, for myself. I have beat her. And her glares, while unsettling, are all she has.
