A CRAZY DAY!!!

May 13, 2011 10:14

Last night, it was actually very difficult for me, to go to sleep. I tossed and turned, in my bed, for what seemed like an eternity. I tightly closed my eyes, and took deep breaths. I was FRIGGIN exhausted, and yet, I could not manage to drift off ( Read more... )

I haven't worked with looms but I've knitted a lot of socks and the heel can be a bit tricky. People always say it's really hard but I don't think it's anything to be afraid of. It's not THAT hard after all. You just have to be careful, and sometimes do it over...

Thanks, for the encouragement. So far, the socks are trouble free. I hope they stay that way.

Glad the snake was 'taken care of'. But you know that snake did not just exist all by himself. There was a mommy snake and a daddy snake and perhaps sibling snakes. So do be wary ( ... )

Yeah...I am very cautious, when outside, now. Snakes just creep the bejeezusd out of me. They are scary little monsters.
As for the socks. Thank you, for offering up a new way, to look at the whole difficulty level.
And yeah, it is grafting.

I agree with basketcaselady about the socks and the statement of 'most difficult'.

It is so wise of you to ponder your decision about school and which one and not be stampeded into the wrong decision. Those who commented on the University of Phoenix may be good resources about the college you are now considering. It might be worth an email to ask.

As to the snake, look before you step - stepping on a rattler will ruin both of your day.

Hugs, happy stitching and stay snake-free.

You know...my phone has been ringing all day. I swear, you show interest in learning, and the universities will just gor after you, and not stop. It is completely insane.
I am very cautious, of where I step. I would just go into a major panic mode, if I even came close to one.

I haven't tried socks yet, though I bought some great yarn. I intend to before this winter (it's autumn down here) though. I decided to try toe-up short-row heels because I can stop when I've used half the yarn. I also bookmarked a pattern for spiral socks that don't have a heel, but use the pattern to grip the foot.

Anyway, there are different methods of making heels and you'll find the one you like best. I'm going for short rows because I've used them in other patterns and liked them.

And eep, a snake! We don't have any in this country, in fact no real predators at all unless you count dogs trained to be vicious.

I think that just seeing the interview, where she talks of the sock, as difficult, just really got to me. I am a little intimidated. I know I can do it. I just wonder how hard, it will be.
Lucky you...no snakes. I want to move to your area now. Lol.

No snakes, no black bees, but we do have ordinary bees and wasps. :-)

From what I've seen on knitting comms, it seems that once you master socks, they get really addictive. People do love making them, and if that's meant to be an easy pattern, go for it!

Ordinary bees and wasps (while frightening) are things I could learn to deal with. But, snakes and MUTANT black bees. Well, they are just scary.
