Two Arms Down...Two To Go

Last night was interesting, to say the least. I had a nightmare (which, the whole time, I knew was JUST a nightmare.) And, it was on 'repeat mode'. It just kept rerunnig itself, over and over...and over. (It was actually a bit annoying ( Read more... )

Congratulations on the free yarn AND getting your blanket back! It's always so hard letting go of things you put so much effort (and heart!) into.

And if you ever are in the position of defending yourself with a crochet hook, make sure to use an afghan hook. I'm sure the extra length and that button at the end will do wonders for your grip. : )

Yes, I was happy, to know that I would be getting that blanket back. I was far from happy, to see it go. It was the one project I prided myself on. It was the one project, where the pattern in the book did not make ONE BIT OF SENSE. And yet, it came out, looking TOTALLY cool!
And, great tip, on the whole longer hook. I will keep that in mind. LOL!

I have tendinitis (and CTS) too. If I crochet too much, it hurts my hands. I've discovered that when I crochet, it's important to switch back and forth to a knitting project too. Knitting and crochet use different muscles and tendons. Knitting doesn't hurt me so I do more of that. But if I starts hurting when I crochet, I have learned to stop right away. I also sleep and use the computer with wrist braces and that does help too.

I second what basketcaselady said about controling the tendonitis. The worse thing you can do is to work thru the pain as that only inflames it worse.

I also work between knitting and crochet for exactly the same reasons.

Wonderful that you are being gifted the yarn. That should help your Etsy project a lot.

Hugs and take care of yourself.

I am impatiently awaiting the loom knitting part, of The Yarn Project (as I am sure you know.) Knitting still has me a bit anxious, but I am sure I will do fine.
The gift of yarn from my neighbor is truly wonderful. It will help me, in so many ways.

I have wrist braces, I use, to sleep in. (Me and my swwetie pie, often joke, and call them MIDNIGHT BOXING GLOVES!)
My clay handled hook...it is amazing. It helps, to be working with a thick handled hook, when I have tendonitis flairs.
I am sorry, that you, too, know this pain. I would NEVER wish tendonitis, on anyone.
