As My Moods Change...

Yesterday...What can I say about it?
Well...to start off with, it was hotter than the heart of Hell, itself. I swear...Anything (and I mean anything) above 90 degrees is just WRONG! But, when you get to where you are surrounded by the fuming heat of 104 degrees...well, that type of heat is unbearable. In that type of heat, you find yourself ( Read more... )

One of the joys of a 'crazy quilt' pattern (which is what you're making) is the unexpected combinations of color. Unlike theme afghans, lovely in their own right, crazy quilts are full of personality - they can reveal much about the maker; skill, mood, patience, even other projects they've worked on, since these afghans are generally made of scrap. It's like a crochet diary in textiles.

By the way, I don't think I told you how much I liked your Hallowe'en bag. Very clever.

Well, thank you for your wonderful compliment, on my bag. I am so pleased, that you like it. I can definately see what you mean, about this blanket being like a diary. It holds so much of what I have come to learn so far, by doing The Yarn Project.

I think it is wonderful that you are creating the granny square afghan at this stage of your learning - you will have a permenant record of your crocheting journey brightening your life on a daily basis. My first projects are a dim memory and long gone. I think you are very wise to do this now.

Hugs and happy COOL stitching - hopefully a cool front will come in and offset the lack or air conditioning.

Thank you for your kind, supportive words. Right now, I am not loving this afghan...it is stressing me out, in a bad way. I am sure, though, that once it is done, I will absolutely LOVE it.

Sounds like the air conditioner still isn't working and that the temp is soaring! Hang in there, cooler times will prevail - eventually!

Hugs and happy stitching.

It's a fact that color effects our moods. Ever noticed how restaurants are often done in bold colors like red? Supposedly, bold colors appeal to our appetite. Purple is a motivation color. They say really driven people like purple.

It's really interesting how we tend to gravitate to different colors depending on our moods. Or how colors we are exposed to can affect us. =)

Well, I can say that I am happy then...Purple is my favorite color. But, it is true. Colors are directly related to our emotions.

Our mood affects the colors we use, b ut the colors affect our moods too. For the blanket and shawl I'mw orking on, I let todd pick out the colors, and he pickd browna dn green. It remids me of a pice of
Camo. The shawl in shades of navy blue. There are some days I can't force myself to work on it because of the colors which is why I have so many projects started.

It is funny. Three days ago, the colors were bright, cheery...and completely random. Then, it goes to dark, dreary, and a little sad, when my mood went to hell.
