Alone Time

Jul 14, 2010 12:17

I thought, as I had my coffee, that today was going to be a day, where I got to be alone. A day when I could work on the shawl, without constant interruption. A day when I would not be subjected to the random bits of 'word vomit' that drip from my mother's mouth. (Don't get me wrong...I love her. But, at times, I honestly think she must have ( Read more... )

Michael,

You are making awesome progress - you are working on three projects, they are all coming along nicely even with the near misses with Mom.

I have to completely agree with your followng note:

(Note to self. Dark yarn, in the night, is a real BITCH!)

As you get older and the eyes don't work as well, you will find that even during the daylight some colors aren't a joy to use. I love black framing afghan blocks - as long as someone else is doing the framing job! My eyes don't like working with black any longer. I used to think that was so strange when I'd hear someone complain and now I truly, TRULY understand!.

Stay cool, happy stitching and Hugs.

I, myself, absolutely DETEST working with black yarn, or any dark yarn. I have black Red Heart yarn. I tried to incorporate it into a granny square, a few days back. I should have known there would be trouble. Brown yarn is too dark for me to enjoy. Why, in the world, did I think black would be fun? I really have no idea. Oh well...live and learn, right?

As you continue progressing and the stitches become easier to do, you may find that you can work the black better - it may still not be your favorite but it does make a great border around a grannie square afghan for instance if you are doing a HDC or fan design.

So glad you things are going so well for you at the moment - intrusions not included. LOL.

Intrusions, while frequent, are NEVER a fun thing. Haha.
