The Fickle Stitch

Tired. Tired. TIRED!!!
I don't understand it, at all. I went to bed early, last night. By no later than 10pm, I was tucked away, under my blankets. And, I know I slept well. I woke up at half past 6, and started my morning with coffee. Surely, coffee would help. I watched the news. (By the way, I am SO over hearing about the stupid CARMAGEDDON! I ( Read more... )

Garter is a reversible stitch. But often garter is followed by another stitch. When that happens, one side becomes the right side (front) and one side becomes the wrong side (back). In that case if your pattern requires a certain number of garter st ridges before beg the next pattern st and you need to end on a knit or purl side then it does matter which stitch you begin.

I have some projects that have that sleepy effect on me too - and they aren't all large. My theory is that the stitch is so rhythmatic that it puts me to sleep.

My tv news pet peeve is Casey Anthony - Headline News has become the Casey Anthony Show and I really suspect there are other news stories around the world that can and should be told.

Your afghans sound lovely and I'm very curious about the mystery item.

Hugs and happy stitching,

Kae

It never fails. I start working this afghan, and I get tired as anything.
It is kind of funny.

I find knitting and crocheting very relaxing but I've never gone to sleep doing it. I do occasionally doze off over a book in the afternoons if I'm feeling tired.

I'd love to see a photo of the inspirational afghan that got you into the project! Or did you post it early on?
