[Quasimodo sits on the roof of the cabin, humming softly as he gently strokes the head of a bird in his hand with one large finger; it seems he's adjusting a little better to not being in his belltower]

[he feels himself being watched and startles, the bird flying out of his hand] ...who...who's there?

[he hesitates, looking guiltily around him out of habit before slowly looking towards her again] ...Quasimodo.

[Coming up to the roof for some time alone to think, Elphaba is a little surprised to see someone already up here.

But, she doesn't want to disturb his peace, so she settles herself down, placing her broom behind her]

You shouldn't let the others bully you like that. [his voice is soft and quiet as he addresses...a bird in his hand, his back still to Elphaba.] There's plenty of bread crumbs.

[he chuckles quietly as the bird seems to chirp indignantly at him]

[When she hears him speaking to...well, whatever he was addressing, Elphaba turns to him, trying to see what he has in his hand. Although, the 'breadcrumbs' comment is a bit of a give away. When she speaks up, she keeps her voice soft, so's not to scare the bird away]

You seem to be very good with animals..

[he gasps at the sudden voice, the birds around him scattering, including the one in his hand. He looks warily over his shoulder at her]
