 NASA is retiring the space shuttle program.

Where have I been that I haven't heard this? Initially, I was a little shocked that it hasn't been displayed more prominently on the news. Then again, with everything going on in the world today, I suppose I should not be surprised that we've turned our gazes earthward and not all realized it yet. This ( Read more... )

I didn't know anything about it until my husband was talking about it last night! I felt kind of sad... the shuttle launches were such an important thing when I was a kid...

Yup! The whole world used to sit down and watch those, and now the shuttles are just . . . being put out to pasture. One more indication that the world we grew up in doesn't exist anymore. Guess nothing to do but keep a chin up and hope that something even more amazing is being born :D
