That is an interesting article.

I grew up in Pacific Grove and had tons of flexibility to ride my bike to my friend's houses, play in the forest, ride my bicycle to the beach, wander around the downtown area on my own, walk to the movie theater, ride to the library,etc...

I'm not around kids much these days...but I can see where there'd be considerably less time for them to "run around." The kids who live in my parents neighborhood (it's gated) are only allowed to go up and down the one streeet that the houses are on).

Also, I don't think I knew that you lived in Denver. How long were you here, what were you doing here? How did you get plugged into the Naturalist circut in CA? I realize that I may have to wait for some the answers until we're dancing around in the dust (as you're likely pretty limited on computer time at the moment).

Sounds like you're happy and having a great time! That makes me happy to know. :)

A new road and elementary school?!?! No!!!! We used to go out there to make student films with "wilderness" locations in high school. And where do the teens go to make out in their cars if the dead end's gone?! Sigh. I guess you can never go home again.... alas.
cheers,
devon
