At least three new studies opened for enrollment through their Research app. You may need to update the app first, I was able to enroll in the hearing study and also the heart health study. The women's health study is also available for enrollment. Why I cannot delete that from my list, I don't know ( Read more... )

I don't remember the brand name but I heard a report that some "smart" watches were getting so hot they were burning people. :o

Google bought out Fitbit last year and recalled an entire line of a certain model after over 100 people were burned. I haven't heard of any recalls of Apple Watches. I've been wearing mine for two years now, taking it off twice a day to charge it.

My previous "smart-ish" watch didn't have a huge amount of functionality. But it supported multiple alarms, had user-made watch faces including ones that were easily read by people with vision problems, and I could get up to eleven days out of a single charge!

Sadly, the people who managed the company made two bad decisions over the years and the company went away. And when that happened, it began to age away from the iPhone operating system and began not working very well. My only gripe with my Apple Watch is the battery life. I charge mine at some point after getting home from work as I wear it to bed Sunday through Thursday to use it as a silent alarm clock so as to not disturb Russet - the vibration is enough to wake me. And I have to charge it when I get up. And it's monitoring/logging my pulse and respiratory rate overnight! And if my heart stopped beating, it will try to wake me, and if I don't respond, it will start alerting people including EMS!!! And because of GPS, it knows where I am - usually ( ... )
