These scammers prey on old people who may be computer illiterate and not aware that the banks won't send people emails like this. Others may suffer from cognitive impairments that keep them from remembering such information

I was actually fooled by a phishing email once in World of Warcraft, the online game. It was a 'chance to get in to the beta test' for a forthcoming expansion, but it was, in fact, an attempt to steal credentials.
When I realized I'd been had, I immediately changed my account password and switched to two-factor authentication.
One of my friends in my guild in the game had his account compromised: his characters were looted as was our guild bank. The company, Blizzard, gave us everything back, but it was still an experience. Mike has no idea how they got his credentials as he says he had two-factor authentication in-place when the hack happened.

wow about the added links that were invisible. How did you manage to spot those? Is that complicated??
Can't you report this email to some institution? The police or something, so they can put a warning out to people?
