My boring life

Oct 28, 2009 17:07

Nothing especially lulzy has been happening to me lately, mainly because I have been buried under an avalanche of work that the previous two years of uni have left me entirely unprepared for. So I've been alternating between working like a rabid beaver and wallowing in self-pity, neither of which are particularly fun to talk about on the interwebs.

I, TOO, HAVE SCOUTED OUT REAL-LIFE HETALIA LOOKALIKES. (There is a dude in my year who looks like America. BLOND HAIR AND BLACK-FRAME GLASSES, yess.)

What sort of nose did your real!England have? I'm not sure what England would be doing in a church in Wales, but presumably he later went and had lunch with his bro, no?

Also, good luck conquering all of your work. YOU CAN DO IT.

The funny thing about Hetalia is that you almost expect to see them, somehow, because the idea of your country hanging around just seems kind of right. Or it does to me anyway :P (I'm also quite glad I'm not the only one who scouts Hetalia-likes)

I dunno, he had like a kind of slightly crooked nose that was a bit bigger than average. I hope that he went and had a nice lunch with Wales afterwards. Though there are very few decent pubs for lunches in the immediate vicinity. Not that England would notice/care.

I am making headway! I WILL CONQUER IT LIKE A MIGHTY MOUNTAIN. Or something.

I'm sure I've heard that sentence uttered unironically around campus before _solaeris October 29 2009, 20:04:59 UTC
It's true, Hetalia has done very odd things to the way-- well, to the way I see the world. (Truism, yay!) I've especially noticed this phenomenon affecting the way I react to bushy eyebrows. THEY ARE JUST IMPOSSIBLE TO IGNORE SO I'M FOREVER POINTING THEM OUT TO MY FRIENDS.

I go between wanting to give England a smallish, pointy nose and... what you described. I should try drawing him with a largish nose! It's not like my England has enough variation as it is. Seriously though, EVERY ONE OF THE ENGLANDS I HAVE DRAWN LOOKS DIFFERENT. IT IS VERY APPROPRIATE THAT HE IS SO DIFFICULT, HOWEVER.

Oh yes, big eyebrows attract me like a magnet now. And I usually view them with appreciation. WHAT IS THIS SERIES DOING TO ME.

I think that a largish nose works better with The Eyebrows because it stops them dominating everything- although the England I draw doesn't have a noticeably larger one but that's kind of because I only really do two kinds of nose. And Russia's. (It's weird how we get very specific 'looks' in our heads about how the characters would look irl! For instance, my head-Liet has very thin, drawn-looking features while Russia and his sisters all have the same nose. I've kind of always wanted to do a post-discussion about this but it's so subjective)
