Who: Aya Brea and YOU. What: Where has Aya been? Well, now we know... Where: Eastern District. When: Tuesday. Warnings: Sadness? ¯\(ºдಠ)/¯ Iunno. Notes: Soundtrack Start.
Eddie wasn't exactly one to normally just walk around, after all he was now a wanted man for threatening the safety of the city. Of course he knew he would fail, but it was for a reason. Always reasons. But soon he would win for good.
But now, a walk. Sure, survey his new territory. And most importantly get new ideas.
Of course he hadn't expected to see one Aya Brea standing like an idiot in the streets ... this could be a treat after all. He sidled up to her and gave a winning smile. Or cocksure, perhaps that was a better term for this. Shit-eating grin would be the most apt, however.
For the sake of discretion, Aya could only curse inwardly. Of all people to see when she first came back after... Well, she didn't know how long yet, but in any case. Why him, out of anyone? As if that was about to improve her mood.
"No."
Having an absolute lack of desire to entertain the crazy people of the city, Aya Brea just kept right on walking.
He gave a chuckle, shaking his head like an adult at a child. Petulance had its own charm, and Aya displayed it beautifully. Plus it just gave him more fodder to bother her with. If she broke down, he won. It's the little pleasures that keep you going.
"Oh? Good, you answered my question before I even asked. There will be no problem with good friends such as us taking a walk together."
And he walked right along with her. Like a douche.
Fortunately, Aya wasn't on the verge of a mental breakdown so much as she was simply annoyed. Maybe outraged, even. She displayed this in the form of dismissive apathy, though, even after Edward had taken to following her. Like a douche.
The good thing was knowing that he couldn't follow her directly into her house. The jealous and overly possessive A.I. there wouldn't allow it for even a second, especially now that she was living alone. Might've had something to do with the state of her mental health...
Naw.
"We're not friends." Crap, why did she even bother?
After hearing that New York City from other worlds was often called "Gotham", Dana had decided to explore the Eastern District's Manhattan area in depth, to see if she could match up anything there with home. She had a map on Gotham on her phone's screen and one of Nautilus's Manhattan also loaded, just in case, but to start, she wanted to do this visually.
But whether it was the time difference or the fact that they were two different cities, after an hour of wandering, she hadn't found anything that screamed "Gotham". Discouraged, she started to make her way back to the Welcome House when she ran into an unfamiliar woman. Who seemed to know where she was going, so probably not a new arrival.
"Hello," she greeted with a wave. It couldn't hurt. This wasn't home, after all, the rules for strangers were different.
There was some comfort in the familiar. Aya oftentimes found it in the Eastern District, being the closest thing that made sense to her. In spite of its little quirks here and there that made it unique from the Manhattan that she knew and lived in, it was still some semblance to home, and that was the fact that mattered.
After the initial greeting of unwanted company, Aya dreaded the next encounter. Thankfully, this one seemed mostly harmless, though Aya was pretty sure she had never met or talked to this person before. With how long it had been since she was... away, it was no surprise that she would find new faces taking up residency in Nautilus.
"Hey..." She glanced over her shoulder, and blinked. "I take it you're one of the recent arrivals?"

Aya seriously had a lot of catching up to do...

That almost came as a shock to her. Of course, Aya had been out of it for awhile, and she'd been away...
Well, she didn't know how long it'd been since she went back home. It wouldn't have been the first time that kind of thing happened, either.
"...I see."
