Ah, fishing and fending for yourself. It sure brought back memories. Edward sat in the boat, reminiscing about that month they had spent on an island as preparation for their training. He could even recall the return trip they'd spent, years later even though it hadn't really happened for him. Another shared memory from one of the many Edwards, another step that never anticipated how much rockier the path ahead would get. He had to wonder if any of his other selves had it easy.

The trip to the island had been spent in silence, but once they were on land again, Edward surveyed the area before casting a brief glance and grin at Alphonse. Even though his brother's helmet could betray no real expressions, the elder Elric knew he was probably thinking the same thing.

"Yeah, got it," he nodded back over towards Six, minding his steps even as he mounted boulders with ease. So despite the situation that had hit Nautilus, he was just a little excited to be somewhere other than the usual span of the city.

I didn't know where to tag to, so it's here. @_@ unrobot August 23 2011, 21:14:52 UTC
Yeah, it was amazing to see them all fit in one boat. Either way, they made it, and there were no problems jumping out into shallow waters to help push the thing along to help Six tether it to the rocks.

The island did make the situation a little nostalgic. Al chuckled quietly when he thought about that one month of survival in their childhood, looking back at Ed with bright eyes. "Okay," he said in his tinny, child-like voice, nodding at Six as well. Surely that was enough to say he was indeed a young whippersnapper teenager.

It wasn't a problem, picking a path on the rocks. He didn't really have to worry about getting hurt on them anyway.

I didn't know if I was supposed to make a new comment? So? spaghettiok August 24 2011, 05:04:10 UTC
Memories, memories, memories. Xavier's were simpler than those of the Elric brothers. Being out on the water simply reminded him of his father, and boating out on the Gulf when he was just a kid. They weren't so much fond as...foggy and foreign feeling. It seemed like so long ago that he'd last seen the man...last seen anyone back home. Alphonse and Edward really were lucky to have each other...

But Xavier wasn't thinking about that much either. To be completely honest? He was to focused on Al to think about much of anything else, including the particularly slippery rocks that Six had warned them about. He faceplants into the rocks after only three steps. Way to go, kid.

But really? Can you blame him? This kid has never seen a suit of armor before period, especially not one as elaborate as that, and definitely not one that big with such a...tiny little voice coming from it...

Maybe it was rude, but he simply could not get his mind off of it...until his mind was redirected to the pain in his face.

"Auuuuuuugh. Owwwww."

I guess from now on new tag = new comment so tag order doesn't really matter. XD;;; Sorry, guys. sixthdeadliest August 24 2011, 11:53:48 UTC
Six barely restrained himself from lifting an eyebrow in confusion at the rather young voice coming from the suit of armor. Strange. The kid sounded like he couldn't have been much older than ten if that. Yet no ten year-old could've been able to manipulate such a large suit of armor ( ... )

Edward winced at that sound, not having to have seen it to know what had happened. He glanced over his shoulder, a wry smile tugging at his face. He turned about, but since Six had it covered in going over to help Xavier up, the alchemist remained on his rocky perch. It was nice to look down at people instead of up.

"Volcano?" That got the boy's attention, brows arching sharply as he looked inland towards the rocky rise in the distance. "Is it active?" And if so, why were they here? Not that he'd ever been near an actual volcano- and he couldn't call up any recollections, so that might have been why he was perhaps just a touch curious.

Well, it was either people ogling the suit of armor, hearing his voice, or a mix of both. He was use to it. Sticking with the cheap excuse ("It's a hobby.") usually covered it. But exactly how many people believe that? He'll never know.

Alphonse winced when Xavier fell, leaning forward to make sure that the other teen was okay. "Good to know, Mister Six." Metal plates clanked as he looked up. "I think we're not going to go that far." Hopefully. Ed had that observant, sharp look in his eyes. Then again, he couldn't ignore his own sense of curiosity.
