Following his ears would likely lead him to a boy trying to outrun a massively obese zombie with a huge mouth. It was spitting, or more like vomiting, a grimy liquid all over the place. So far it seems the boy has managed to not end up with this stuff on him, and good thing, as it seems to be melting the street where it lands. And, of course, this stuff seems like honey to flies, as more of the lumbering beasts are coming to check out the scene. These the boy is at least attempting to bash with a crowbar before they can grab him.

Yet another group to 'meet and greet' with. Looks like he got there just in time to stop that large one from tearing up that kid. With more coming their way, York had little time to conjure up a plan to get rid of all of them. The acid vomit sure didn't make the situation any more easier.

He hoped to Zach that this steel pipe was blunt enough to get the job done.

York took a swing at the large zombie's head but it wasn't enough to bring it down completely.

Mitham had no idea who this guy was, but he sure as hell wasn't going to turn away any help. With someone else to help he took a moment to split the heads of a few of the slower zombies, before moving in to try to help this stranger take out the big one.

It stumbled from the blows, shaking its head and making retching sounds before spewing more acid.

He backed away just enough to avoid any large splatters of the acid vomit from touching his body. York barely made it by with only a few droplets touching his pants, leaving small holes on the cloth. He had to keep himself alert from actually stepping on the stuff or that would be end of his shoes or his feet for that matter. Last thing York wanted to do was relive the 'John McClane' experience.

The portly zombie advanced towards York, trying to grab him by the shoulders. Before it got any closer, York made one hard swing at its head, causing it to collapse on the ground.

He turned his attention towards the boy. "Are you alright?" he asked.

He was starting to get hungry and a nice bowl of chili with cornbread sounded amazing right now, alas, he could only find disgusting and stale health bars with fruit bits in them that actually looked like giant beetles more than they resembled any sort of fruit he had ever seen. Still, food was food, but it was starting to take a toll on him.

Making his way through the streets, he tried to find the familiar red door that he had spotted hours earlier. At least then, he could possibly find something to eat, and find more firepower (he only had so many ammo cartridges left - especially now that he parted from Red Mist), when in the distance, he saw someone, or something, sprinting.

Kyle narrowed his eyes (which really didn't help as his face was obscured by the bear suit), trying to determine who it was. And of course, he recognized the guy off the bat (most of it was from the fact he actually went to the movies with this guy while high and then drunkenly talked about second chances in films weeks later not a very good first two ( ... )

York wasn't getting anymore energized with each step he took. Living off of raw eggs and beef jerky only made the agent crave for a decent hot meal.

Hearing his name being called out was much of a relief. The voice sounded quite familiar too. He stopped to turn around to see... a blue figure in the distance. He returned the hand motion and began to walk closer towards the alleyway where he can see that this person was wearing a bear suit. How curious.

It finally clicked with York that this was the same guy he had met at the movies with. Looks like when it comes to meeting people on a face-to-face basis in Nautilus, York had a knack for meeting them in very awkward situations.

Kyle waited until York had made his way over before he removed the bear head and extended his hand as a quick greeting. "Great seeing you again," he said in one breath. He glanced over the other man's shoulder, seeing that none of the hoard had made it over there yet.

But the groans continued to echo through the streets.

"We should find higher ground," his eyes searched for any sort of fire escape ladder to a building. "That way we'll be able to see where they are."

This wasn’t the first time Aya had to deal with violent outbreaks of the monster variety. If anything, this was just about the most normal thing that’s happened to her since she showed up in Nautilus, and that fact was downright depressing.
  their population overwhelming
Not to mention Aya’s closeted, manic behavior was also more or less volatile. Time had decided to slip in and out; she couldn’t tell whether or not if she’d been living this for a few days, weeks, or years. Sometimes it felt as though she’d been doing this for lifetimes, and then realized that, on some level of reality, she probably had.
  killing them all
Simultaneously both here and there.
this is all there is for herIt was bad enough that Aya showed the obvious signs of not taking closer care of herself; not like she should have. Blood-soaked as she was, her leather jacket worn out and her clothes stained, none of it concealed her palpable lack of sleep/rest, or the fact that she had been waging a nonstop war with these creatures since the week began as though ( ... )

It was one of those rare moments in York's life where he had no no idea where he was going. Sure, he needed to find a safe spot to lay low but that didn't stop the zombies from taking more lives.

His hearting was beating fast. Usually York wouldn't mind this but lack of calories had sent a pang to his stomach. Only making his trudge along the zombie infested city more difficult.

He looked like a hot mess. Once a three piece suit now missing a jacket and tie thanks to one encounter where he was nearly caught on fire. His shirt and pants stained with blood and dirt.

Then sounds of gunfire made its' way to his ears. 'Zach someone else is nearby.' As far as direction goes, those shots were good enough of a lead for him to walk towards.

There was an advantage to using guns. Not only did it get the job done easier, but Aya Brea, being mostly skilled in the field of firearms, was able to end a fight much quicker than if she were bludgeoning one of the many undead to re-death. She was just as sufficient with both, but in the heat of combat, guns were always her thing.
they gather underground in the subways in the darkness
Of course, using guns meant loud noises, too, which had a tendency to call unwanted attention. And the way Aya fought, she attracted many, leaving behind mountains of undead corpses along the streets wherever she went. The small fries were easy, but dealing with some of the bigger, faster ones, that was a different story.
their mandibles clicking their jaws locked on flesh biting
Not being able to Bend the blood and dirt off her clothes was bad enough, and Aya really hadn’t had time to find a change of clothes. As though that kind of thing was on her mind right now...
  leaving venomous wounds
All she saw was what was ahead of her.
  puffy skin ( ... )

It was dangerous to follow his curiosity unarmed. This much he knew. There was only so much a steel pipe can do against a mob of those creatures. Ammo was scarce, without having the ability to Bend more only made his pistol just a paperweight. He still carried it with him though. Those moments where he can reload just made encounters much easier. He'd be foolish not to carry it with him.

He certainly was not alone in this. Zach was with him. They've danced with an almost similar phenomena at Greenvale. Not exactly the flesh-hungry creatures but they were something you didn't see everyday. Still, he had a sense of comfort with Zach by his side.

The sound of manic laughter... Now that's new.

"Zach did you hear that?" He whispered.

"Either someone has completely lost it or we're about to meet someone 'new'. Let's not be reckless, alright?"

Now he was even more curious. Walking further down, York was beginning to see a familiar figure.
