Balthazar was feeling quite confident in himself. This little experiment of his was proving rather successful. With each victim, he gained more distance. He could be further away each time. Perhaps one day he could attain such power that he could be an entire district away to spread his influence. He did prefer to be there himself, but distance could give him a wonderful alibi. Not that he needed to worry. That police woman seemed to have not noticed his presence the day Legato took his own life. And as far as he could tell they were no closer to finding him than they were to locating the vampire who'd caused such a stir before this all began.

Strange how things came together. He'd stumbled upon two of the bigger threats to the city since Isis by accident and both proved to be incredible allies. Well, as far as allies went when corruption and deceit were the goals.

He'd anticipated a angel to come down on him after the episode with Lelouch. He'd been careless in that situation, unable to resist the temptation to knock the smug bastard down a peg or two. Castiel knew about the flies and the sulfur. Though Lelouch had only made a request about the flies, that should have been all the little god-slave needed to go on a demon hunt. And yet, there'd been barely a whisper from that side of the fence. He'd found the right button after all: Ms. Potts. It meant he couldn't kill her or corrupt her to an extreme extent without having to worry about angels and exorcists at every turn, but it didn't mean he couldn't have a little fun.

Coin flipping down his fingers, he stretched his mind out further and further as he strolled down the street. When he'd first began, he'd been cautious, only nudging at minds as he came upon them. But having met no real resistance and no threats in the weeks since he began this little experiment, he felt no need for such caution. Anyone he'd encountered that may be able to identify him with similar abilities were easy to sense. He could pull back before they'd noticed anything out of the ordinary, no more than a mental brush and he was gone. So he cast around for anything fun to play with.

He began to wonder about the mechanical residents. Perhaps there were a way to to them. Electronics could be controlled, hacked. You only needed the proper tools and knowledge. Perhaps he should reach out to one of them as he had to the priest. Make himself out to be a friend, merely curious of how they functioned. His own powers may not be able to translate to their circuits, but what if he were to gain a form similar to theirs? Others had done so with ease. Become compatible. Spread his corruption like a virus through their systems.

He mulled over these ideas as he continued to seek out anyone to toy with.
