DO I DAZZLE YOU PETER loving_killing June 17 2010, 21:56:41 UTC
The truth was that Nautilus was incredibly boring for Ladd. Now that he'd been ratted out, he had to keep stepping back every time he met someone new! As always, when he saw new faces, his mind immediately traveled to how he'd like to kill them, and when, and where - but no, no, he couldn't anymore! At least not freely. Back before he'd been in prison, the city had seemed like a free-for-all kind of party zone where he could do what he liked and not get called out on it. A killer's paradise. But Ladd had been wrong about that; that prosecutor had gotten on his case, Aya had dragged him in, and the cell had done the rest of the work in convincing him: watch your step. He really hated watching his step ( ... )

MR. LADD-CHAN, I WANT YOUR AUTOGRAPH. endallwars June 18 2010, 03:03:14 UTC
To be quite honest, he had no idea where Ladd Russo would be dwelling, much less would it occur to him that Ladd would be in Manhattan of all places. True, Peter had considered confronting him, but there was one thing that he was determined to avoid, and that was killing another human being.

If he could avoid it. Humanity is already at its limitations back in his world, therefore killing a fellow man seems rather pointless. That, and the senseless violence in Great War.

...Which in turn makes Ladd Russo a very frustrating individual, for all what little Peter knows of him.

Regardless, it simply does not occur to him that he would run into the man and all, and there he is, calling him out casually and all too familiarly.

Peter glances up, and his brows raise in surprise. He's not technically unarmed, but he really has no intention of... killing.

What's a good way of dealing with a killer without killing them right back?

"I suppose I ought to be flattered you remembered, Ladd." So much for terrible book reading.

Look at that, he wasn't even getting up and yelling at him! If Ladd remembered correctly, this guy had been pretty angry back when they'd met. He wasn't sure what reaction would have been the most fun. Slipping his hands into his pockets casually, he began to wander closer to the bench, grinning.

"'Course you should be! If someone remembers your name, it's gotta mean you're halfway important, right? Now, it's much more exciting if it's a pretty lady doin' the remembering, but having the infamous Ladd Russo remember is almost as good!"

God, he wanted to kill him. This guy had something against him, right? Couldn't that be enough of an excuse? Those vengeful types were so much fun to tear apart.

Ladd's murderous thoughts were halted - as were his feet - as he caught sight of a spindly little thing curled up at Peter's feet. He quirked an eyebrow.

"Quite. However, you aren't precisely comparable to a lady, Ladd."

There's a pause, and while the killer notices the Trapper, it occurs to Peter. He does have a solution in this matter.

How to gain vengeance on Ladd Russo without necessarily killing him.

"Interesting creature, isn't it? It's called a Trapper. And for good reason." Peter holds out his hands to the creature. "Come here, Stephen."

As if excited at the prospect of Peter, for once, inviting the little beast's attention, Stephen practically leaps into the journalist's hands. However, he doesn't stay there long; Peter stands up and looks at Ladd.

"Catch," he instructs Ladd, tossing Stephen at him while the Trapper starts to shriek.
