With the recent events, Edward had been torn from his usual studies to place his interests in the current happenings in Nautilus. Vigilant as he ought to be, he paid more mind to the network.

Everybody in the Roivas mansion was accounted for, with the exception of Peter Jacob. And with that gun-toting German, Rip van Winkle, running about, the psychologist had no hope to offer that anyone would be safe on their own out there.

As one of the few unaffected, Edward took matters into his own hands. Cautious. Attentive. Quick to take the initiative. He’d cast an extra enchantment on the windows to fortify the glass; the doors, too, were also reinforced.

While in the process of securing their safety, the nearby wall began to change. Edward stepped away just as a blue trapper leapt from the portal in the surface, shaking and screaming. On instinct, he would have shot such a creature. But judging by the bell and collar, the creature was a familiar one.

“Stephen...?”The trapper continued to scream, obviously agitated by something ( ... )

The arrival of Allen was welcome, as Edward could use further help with locating Peter. It seemed foolish of the man to leave the mansion, although it wasn’t like he hadn’t done it before.

For how close Stephen stuck to Peter, the trapper’s unquestionable distress invited a greater cause for concern.

That was when Stephen screeched a final time, and began scratching at the door with its front feet, still eerily screaming.

Edward looked to Allen. “Not likely. I believe he is trying to direct our attention to something more important. Perhaps he knows where Peter has gone off to... I will follow him.”

The possibility that maybe the trapper possessed a higher awareness to show such intelligence was unusual. But then, having met a trapper that behaved in the same manner as Stephen at all, Edward was willing to suspend his disbeliefs.
